The aim of this work is to present an abridged study of the characteristic features of the most important drugs for the purpose of preliminary study. It received favorable reviews. King tells us, For more than forty years, Allen was an active force in the medical history of New York City. Tutored by P. P. Wells, and in partnership with Carroll Dunham, Allen associated with many of the foremost Homoeopaths of the day. Materia Medica was his specialty, and he was on the Board of Managers for New Yorks Botanical Garden.
