Some very light penciled notes on front flyleaves of both volumes. Bound in two 3/4 leather volumes with marble boards. The work shows some normal age. Overall, in good to very good condition.
This most important work by Hahnemann received outstanding reviews by the pharmaceutical community of the day. In describing this work, Hahnemann states, I have endeavored to describe all the simple remedies which have been in use from the beginning of the century up to the most recent times. The medical historian, Ameke, tells us that Hahnemann, in the case of remedies belonging to the vegetable kingdom, gives us not only their botanical descriptions but their habitat, time of flowering, and time of collecting the parts useful medicinally and refers to other works containing plants. It is considered one of Hahnemann's most significant works. This is the only copy we have ever offered, and it is a very nice copy. For a more complete review of this work, see William Ameke's "History of Homoeopathy." E. Gould & Son, 1885, pp. 32-38. Hahnemann's Pharmaceutical Lexicon is a truly scarce title!
