Has a nice early Wesselhoft bookplate. Includes an unusual portrait of Hahnemann on the front flyleaf that was tipped in (not originally with text). Ex-lib. Original spine has a paper cover. The work retains its original boards. Otherwise, normal wear and a satisfactory to good copy.
The first American Edition of Hahnemanns Organon was the second major Homoeopathic text published in America. It has a Preface by C. Hering, and it is a reprint of the 1833 English edition, with additions from the Fifth German Edition, not included in the British work. The publication of the First American Edition was at the express desire of Hahnemann, who wished that an enlarged and improved English version from the Fifth German Edition might appear in the United States. Hering and the Allentown Academy fulfilled Hahnemanns request, and this work is now one of the rarest Homoeopathic books published in America.
