The author tells us that the indications for remedies, the recommendations for methods of treatment, and the operations to be performed are based upon his observations in many European and American hospitals. He goes on to present all carefully studied cases, so far as he can find them, and a thorough search through the medical works and journals by German, French, English and American writers covering nearly half a century. This text received several good reviews. A scarce work!
